Green vs Green Workshop

Students of the University of Aruba and EPI together with leading professionals of the island accepted the challenge to design during the Green vs. Green Workshop a totally new sustainable energy vision for Aruba based on the RAS-framework, which stands for Reliability, Affordability and Sustainability. By a board game the students and professionals learned that pursuing sustainable energy is not without consequences for other key aspects of our energy consumption like affordability and reliability.

In the video below an impression of the Green vs Green Workshop.

Science On a Sphere® (SOS)

The eye seeker of this year´s conference was the Science on a Sphere (SOS); a giant animated globe that uses video projectors to display data on it. The sphere, designed by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and supported by NASA, is used to increase peoples understanding of the earth and universe as well. During the conference there were four presentation moments with the SOS where Maurice Henderson of NASA made use of animated images of atmospheric storms, climate change impacts and ocean temperatures.
